SSC conducts competitive examinations to recruits various services and posts. There are more than 20 types of jobs varies from group B to group C. Eligibility criteria is graduation in any stream from a recognized university to apply for an SSC examination. Physical fitness and measurement are also required for some posts like the Sub-Inspector and Narcotics department.

What Is Staff Selection Commission ?
In short, it is the organisation that issues every government job in India. It is the department that conducts recruitment exams for various government jobs. It is a directorate at the center. It issues Central Government jobs which are given to candidates under various categories. Here are some more details regarding the Staff Service Commission: It was established as a statutory body in 1959 under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions to carry out recruitment examinations to recruit officers in central government in Civil, Police and Fire services, in various administrative and non-administrative services. The SSC became fully operational in 1963.
Eligibility Criteria :
The entrance exam for SSC recruitment is divided into two sections. The first section is the Written Test which is a total of 150 marks and the second part is Interview or Skill Test. The written test for SSC recruitment will be of two sections. The first one will be for 100 marks and the second one for 50 marks. There is a total of 50 questions in both section 1 and 2. The marks will be calculated based on the following parameters: Pose Level (written test in the first section): Mathematics: 30-35 marks General Science: 35-40 marks Reasoning & Numerical Ability: 35-40 marks Total: 150 marks. The number of questions for a section will be defined by the SSC and these will be laid down. There is no negative marking.

Physical Fitness :
These candidates will be required to participate in physical training and will be placed in physical fitness test before being selected. Measurement These candidates will be required to measure their height, weight and wear certain clothing for security purpose. Qualification Some of the exam-related requirements for interested candidates are: One of the upper division graduates in the years from 10th to 12th. Candidates who have passed Class X examination with science as a subject. SSC or equivalent graduation degree. Some other qualifications such as M.Sc., M. Tech., MCA, B.Sc. with honours, B.Sc., B.Sc.
