GPS Full Form
GPS Full Form- What is GPS? It is one of the global navigation satellite systems that provides geolocation and time information. GPS sytem work as per – A number of GPS satellites are deployed on six orbits around the earth at the altitude of approximately 20,000 km (four GPS satellites per one orbit), and move around the earth at 12-hour-intervals

What is GPS ?
GPS is a satellite-based navigation system that enables the user to determine his position on earth with an accuracy of around 20 feet. The system is owned and operated by the United States, which provides positioning data to the US government and military. GPS is used for tracking vehicles, aircraft and marine vessels and is used for mobile phones. Some other uses include: locating lost children, finding missing people and locating phones. Most GPS devices rely on a receiver and GPS receiver chip. How to set up GPS? Set up a GPS device by downloading free app. Read the instructions carefully. The GPS receiver/set-up is designed to accept only one software protocol only, which is from Navteq, a company co-owned by the U.S. government.
How GPS Works ?
Polar Navigation GPS systems help us know the position of our places in a world that is constantly changing. The positions of GPS satellites have been improved by shifting from Galileo to the GPS network, and then introducing GPS:divergence error. The GPS satellites with different types of payloads are provided for navigation and time timing. This means that they send out signals that will be received by a receiver in the form of radio waves, which are combined into radio signals by a receiver unit, which is then retransmitted to the satellite (the satellite relays the radio waves to the receiver unit), at a distance of a few dozen kilometers.
Radio signals :
Radio signals, similar to FM and AM, can be converted to an 8 or 16 bit digital data signal. The location from where the signal is generated can be calculated by measuring the time difference between the time the signal is sent and when it is received. It is then possible to calculate the geographic position. A receiver (GPS Receiver) on the ground receives this digital signal and uses that as its reference. From the receiver, the satellite signals can be sent back to the GPS Receiver which displays the current geographic location. A typical GPS receiver uses the time and a fixed number of satellite orbits as reference for distance and time calculations. While using GPS, the user can calibrate the location of the receiver by the following signals.
The GPS receiver :
This is your GPS receiver. It works by getting the time and the position of the satellite from the GPS satellites and the onboard computers . Location/Timing information sent from the satellite to your GPS receiver is transmitted at a very high data rate of approx. 60-70 MB per second and gets converted into binary codes and is sent to your GPS receiver over a data link The receiver then converts the received binary code into analog information . Then it decodes this into time and it sends a digital read out to your PC. Now we know what the receiver does, now we know what it needs!
GPS Applications :
GPS has become more and more important. There are many applications available in google play store and IAP store which are making people’s life easy.
