BRC Global Standard for Food Safety was the first standard to meet the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmark.Originally developed and published in 1998, the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standards specify safety, quality and traceability standards for the retail sector. What does the UK Food Standard Group propose to do? The UK Food Standards Group (FSG) aims to improve the effectiveness of the safety management system in the food supply chain. GFSI standards are used as the basis for food safety management systems (FSSS) in retail food businesses.
